Blackheads
Black heads are one of the three major types of acne. The other two types are red bumps and white heads. Blackheads are actually the same type of acne is a whitehead except that white heads are not exposed to air. This changes their respective coloration because without air the material filing the pore cannot oxidize. Oxidation is what causes the dark color of a blackhead. Blackheads can be treated with similar methods as other acne symptoms, and often those with acne have all three types of acne. The simplest method is a common routine of once a day face washing with mild soap or facial scrub for a gradual reduction in acne. Many topical and oral medications are available for treatment and even extraction for black heads.
Fast Facts
