Chemical Peel

You can't turn back the clock. We're all getting older every day. But we don't have to look that way. A process for removing fine wrinkles, scarring, acne, and discolorations can take years off the looks of those who are willing to pay the price. It's called a chemical peel, and there are a wide range of options, from simple alpha hydroxy acid peels; to beta hydroxy acid peels; Jessner's peel; retinoic acid peels; trichloroacetic acid peels; and phenol peels. The first five are accompanied by varying degrees of mild stinging or burning and can generally be done in a plastic surgeon's office or outpatient clinic. The last one is deeper, more painful, and often requires an anesthetic. These procedures are not all regulated and may be performed by unlicensed practitioners. However, damage can occur, and It is wise to consult a dermatologist or plastic surgeon, before undergoing these procedures.
