Enlarged Nipples

While there is no actual standard nipple size, some people who feel they have enlarged nipples may choose to undergo cosmetic surgery to reduce the size of their nipples. Many factors may lead to enlarged nipples. In some cases, genetics is the cause, while in other cases childbirth or breastfeeding may cause nipples to increase in size. Those who wish to change the shape and size of their nipples may decide to undergo nipple reduction surgery, which is usually a fairly simple outpatient procedure. Nipple reduction surgery can reduce the length of the nipple tip as well as the width. The areola may also be reduced in nipple reduction surgery. This surgery may be preformed in conjunction with both breast reduction and breast enlargement procedures. In most cases, sensitivity is not reduced and a woman will still be able to breastfeed.
