Laser Acne Treatment

Significant advances in laser technology have led to an improvement in the ability to treat and minimize the appearance of acne scars. Laser skin resurfacing and targeted laser treatments have shown to be effective in reducing or eliminating scarring left by severe acne, and allow those embarrassed by acne scars the opportunity to reverse some of the damage. There are a number of different types of lasers used in laser acne treatment, and which procedure will work best often depends on the type and severity of the scarring. Ablative lasers are generally more intense and the healing period is significantly longer, while non ablative lasers are less risky and have a shorter recovery time. Fractionated lasers are also commonly used in laser acne treatment.
